A Cantonment man was sentenced to 15 years in state prison followed by 10 years of probation after pleading no contest to avoiding arrest and a slew of drug-related charges. He crashed into a Honda CR-V injur- ing the driver and passenger, ac- cording to Eddins. Harris then exited his own vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. Harris was captured by law en- forcement and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed narcotics, accord- ing to Eddins. An Escambia County jury later ac- quitted Harris of the murder charge on April 12.

A Federal Aviation Administration statement says the collision happened shortly before noon Wednesday while the planes were either taking or landing at Haller Airpark in Green Cove Springs. The Clay County said on Facebook and Twitter that deputies and detectives responded to the crash sites.
