So I was looking at the Macros and their newish (since 11) macros with snapshots. Seems cool (I wish Bitwig had this), I've been looking for this forever. However what I really want is the ability to assign snapshots to clips so that when you trigger a scene it resets to whatever parameter snapshot you've assigned. Can this be done by assigning midi to a snapshot and then writing the midi cc as automation? Haven't had any luck with that.

Also, are there ways to create snapshots of entire track or set parameters? For example, include send levels in a snapshot for either a single track or the set? I remember years ago Richie Hawtin made something like that in M4L, not sure if there are new tools for that these days?

Edit: Hawtin's Kapture is discontinued and can't be downloaded now. I did try it for Live 10 and seemed a little sluggish and not really consistent. Looks like ClyphX might be a better alternative...

Thanks!

Checkout ClyphX. The released commercial version is unfortunately only available for Live 10 and previous, but an open source version exists for Live 11, as well as a (non public) alpha build of ClyphX Pro for Live 11. It works pretty well, but is not perfect. I wish Ableton had proper device and plugin clip snapshots as a native function, but as far as I know it doesn't. There are various hacky ways to achieve this also with the Max API, including the old Hawtin thing, but all that I've tested seem to be worse than ClyphX Pro.

Was going to start a new thread and then found this old one I started. I was looking at ClyphX. I see that there is a Pro version, and the website now says that it is compatible with Live 11, so I guess that happened since your post?
https://isotonikstudios.com/product/clyphx-pro/

And then there is also this other open source version, which also appears to now work with Live 11:
https://github.com/ldrolez/clyphx-live10/releases

Just wondering if anyone has experience with these and how they compare? I'm a Bitwig user but recently got back into Live as I really want to use global snapshots as well as device snapshots, so I'm giving Live a try again for some things. ClyphX seems to be the best tool for that, but perhaps there are other goodies I don't know about yet. Can anyone summarize tha advantages of the pro version? Features, stability etc.?

thanks!
